The Squire and the Scroll

 


This book, The Squire and the Scroll, was one my son was especially drawn to, although my girls loved the story as well! My children are still young, so the deeper meaning was lost on them, but they were still able to grasp that the light was something to be protected, and they understood that the scroll was very much like the Bible, giving instruction on how to navigate the challenges of the world we live in. I loved this story as an example of heroic courage, and my son loved that there was a dragon to be slayed! I highly recommend this story for boys of any age, and the author has another book that my children love that speaks more to girls: The Princess and the Kiss

Both of these books are on my list of books that drive home the beauty of God's Kingdom.
