A New Year Refresh

As we head into the new year, I'm focusing on how to refresh my life both physically and spiritually. In years past, I've set way too many goals and haven't been able to live up to them. This past year, my goal was to radically change my nighttime schedule to allow more time for reading. Setting aside my phone and computer was challenging, but it allowed me to read 47 books (most of them middle school novels and education books, mind you!)

This year, I'm keeping my resolutions simple. I know that what my soul needs for a true refresh is intentional time set aside with the Lord. This new year, I've decided to focus on the daily Mass readings and the 7 Sorrows of Mary (accompanied by 7 Hail Marys) for my personal prayer time. I'm also renewing my commitment to logging a daily sentence of gratitude in my journal. Finally, a practical refresh is making sure I hydrate better than I have over the last few months. I have a large water jug I will be filling up nightly so I can keep track of how much water I drink during the day. I'm hoping that these practical goals will be a source of refreshment in this beautiful, wild adventure of motherhood.

To keep track of my efforts, I'm using this planning page I created in Canva. If it is helpful to you, feel free to use it! I'm keeping track of praying, stretching, moving my body (whether walking or some other form of cardio), a simple daily arm or ab workout, and hydrating!

I pray that this new year brings you a sense of peace and a renewal of hope. May Mary, our Mother, keep us under her protection and draw us closer to her Son in this new year!
