Tea Time

When I took a deep dive into homeschooling a few years ago, I found many practices that I knew I would want to incorporate into our schedule, whether or not we decided to homeschool. One of these practices is Tea Time!

Once a week, our family hosts an afternoon tea time. I bake a sweet treat, and we pull out our china to fill cups of tea. While my children enjoy tea and a baked treat, I read aloud to them from one of our Tea Time selections. I try to read one story and one poem. This super simple practice has become one of our favorite parts of the week.

Near our kitchen, I keep a basket of nine of our favorite Tea Time selections. Sometimes I plan what I'll read and other days we just grab a book and go from there!

You can find our family's favorite Tea Time read-aloud selections over at our Creative Catholic Library!
