Our Favorite Books of 2025
This year, I gave up time on my computer and phone and dedicated 30 minutes to reading each evening. Making this change allowed me to read more books this year than I have in the past few years combined! Here are a few of my favorites from this year:
Every night before bed, I read aloud to my children for 15-20 minutes. We also read after school (and on weekend afternoons) for about 15 minutes, which sometimes turns into 30 if we are really excited about a book. With this schedule in place, I was able to read aloud over 40 chapter books to my 7-year-old this year!
Here are a few of her favorites:
Oliver is my high-energy child with a great love for all things that move. With that said, Oliver loves to listen to read-alouds. He amazes me with his ability to sit still and listen to picture books and even a few chapter books. Slowly building up the length of our read-aloud time has allowed Oliver to enjoy over 350 picture books this year! Here are a few of his favorites:
My youngest, Evelyn, has grown as a lover of books this year, which has been a joy to witness.
