Happily Ever After
This series of posts, From the Rose Room, are a nod to my dream of one day having a rose cottage of the likes of Joanna Gaines—roses growing all around a cute little cottage—but instead of gardening supplies, my cottage would be filled with my library of well-loved books and a writing desk with a view of my roses. Perhaps this dream will come to fruition someday, but for now, my poetic reflections will have to come from a quiet corner desk with a painting of roses as my view.
Growing up, I was a Disney princess girl through and through. I loved each princess' story, but even more so, I loved that I never had to worry about the ending. Every princess is guaranteed a happily ever after.
Princesses of Heaven: The Flowers is a lovely picture book that tells the real stories of six women who ultimately earned their happily ever after. Fabiola Garza highlights the beautiful souls of the featured saints without revealing the brutal reality of what sacrifices these women ultimately made for love of God. Rather than romanticizing their stories, I believe we can look at these stories with the light of a faith that tells us to hope against hope because the best is yet to come.
Women of all ages will love the invitation to dream about their own happily ever after—"Princess, what is your path to Heaven?"
